A two bedroomed character cottage,  in a secluded rural setting. This part of the Wye valley is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty .

The Cottage overlooks a large traditional orchard and is ideal for a peaceful country holiday.

Access via road is good , being only ten minutes drive from the M50 motorway.

The Cottage is five miles from Hereford, seven miles from Ross-on-Wye , thirty miles from Hay-on-Wye and within easy reach of the Malvern Hills, Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons.

It is ideally suited for local attractions like Eastnor Castle, The Ross-on-Wye International festival, the Hay-on-Wye Jazz festival and bookshops. Canoeing on the Wye, game and coarse fishing on the rivers Wye and Lugg, sports centres, swimming , horse riding and trekking are all available locally.

Walkers have the Wye Valley Walk (five minutes from the cottage), the Brecon Beacons, the Malvern Hills and a variety of local footpaths to explore.

The area has many pubs serving excellent food at reasonable prices.

The village has two pubs and the Wye Health & Leisure club which has a swimming pool, gym , restuarant  and where you can have a massage etc. For more details see www.wyeleisure.com

The accommodation at the Cottage comprises.

Ground floor

Kitchen/dining area. A large L shaped room with kitchen diner and raised seating area with woodburning stove and double sofa bed.The kitchen is very well equipped with a microwave, gas hob, electric oven, food mixer and lots of cooking utensils. As the cottage is also used as our second home there are normally some dried foodstuffs herbs and spices etc in the kitchen  which we are happy for visitors to use and replace.

Utility room. Washing machine, drying rack, central heating boiler and large sink.

Living room. Snug living room with original beamed fireplace, woodburning stove, TV, radio, DVD player  and Video player.

Toilet. W/C and handbasin.

First floor

Bedroom1. A double bedroom with twin beds, which may be pushed together to form a double. There are fine views over the orchard and the Wye valley.

Bedroom2. A large double bedroom with two single beds and a Z bed.

Bathroom.  Bath, electric shower, W\C and hand basin

Full central heating and logs for the woodburner are included in the rental.

There is off road parking for two cars.

The attractive cottage garden has a small patio for al fresco meals with views over the orchard and the Wye valley.

There is no telephone but the nearest public phone box is only a few hundred metres up the hill.

The cottage is about five hundred metres from the village, which has a butcher, hairdresser, garage, late opening shop with Post office, medical centre, church (C of E) and two pubs  which serve food.

Unfortunately the property is unsuitable for wheelchair users , the original doorways are very narrow and there is a step up,or down, between several of the rooms.
